The time has finally come. Next Friday I officially reach retirement age. I've been an auto mechanic / shop manager for 48 years. May 1, 2026 is listed as my last day of work. I decided to continue working but at an easier pace. I will be on as a manager still, ordering parts, talking to customers, making invoices, occasional state inspections but as for actual repairs, I'll leave it up to the young guys.
I've been planning ahead and as of May 4th my wife and I will be flying to Aruba for 8 days and 7 nights. I'll be returning on May 11, 2026. I have wanted to go there for quite a few years. I went there once for about 4 hours on a cruise ship and fell in love with the island. I think its a well deserved vacation for myself. Then I'll start phase 2 of my work life. i WILL MISS YOU GUYS AND THINK OF YOU WHILE IM LAYING ON A CHAIR SIPPING COCKTAILS ON EAGLE BEACH.
